Shark conservation and management is being recognized as a major environmental concern - emerging as a new priority in marine conservation and research. As such, a number of initiatives and research projects are being undertaken across Atlantic Canada for sharks.
Multiple stakeholders have recognized the need for collaboration to advance the conservation and management of sharks in Canada. As the public is an important stakeholder in the success and longevity of conservation efforts for sharks, it is the intention of this page to bring these initiatives to you. By doing so, everyone can be involved and updated on what is happening for sharks in Atlantic Canada.
